Up to date and doing great!
Moving ever forward, the fine folks at WordPress have updated the self-publishing suite. Anxious to stay current, I attempted to upgrade throught the newly introduced “automatic upgrade” feature from directly within the dashboard. Should be simple right… FAIL.
Seems the pclziputilpathreduction() that was “redeclared” in another plugin was causing a major problem.Oh well, I just download the new package. I had planned on installing it manually but I remembered the BlueHost SimpleScripts installation had been a breeze. After both backing up the database and exporting the site to XML… I decided to go ahead and try the SimpleScripts automatic upgrade. I mean… its on the cPanel so it has to work… right?
BINGO! Much respect to SimpleScripts. Got it right the very first time.
So in planning this post and what to write… I had to make sure i’d reference the correct error message. In order to do so, I simply picked a new popular plugin to install so I knew I’d get the error… And I did. That’s when I noticed that the “redeclare” was occuring in one specifc plugin. Every time.
What plugin… why, its the old WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin that millions of WP users have used to stay current prior to the latest 2.7 release.Someone might want to tell Alanis that THIS… this, is the very definition of irony. Not, as some might have you believe, like raaii-e-ain on your wedding day.
In any event, I deactivated that one plugin and suddenly the Google XML Sitemaps plugin took care of itself. Sweet. BTW… that google xml sitemaps is the frickin’ balls. for real. Happy smiley green balls of all kinds of goodness. Wurd.

I love the new site. ‘Palooza needs a major update. I haven’t touched it in a long time other than the events on the homepage. I may look into WordPress!
